In 1963, the author started from the late famous doctor Wang Xiting as a teacher. Master Wang once taught the treatment of hematuria in the elderly with meat ash paste. After nearly 40 years of clinical verification, it is indeed effective. The introduction is as follows.

1 Medicine composition: Cistanche 30~45g, dogwood 12g, yellow 30~60g, cooked aconite (first decoction) 10g, white peony 30g, and licorice 10g. Addition and subtraction: add cohosh 10g for qi deficiency, 3g Bupleurum, reuse Huangzhi 60g, add ginseng 15g for severe symptoms; add 30g red stone fat for stools, 10g each for poppy shell and Schisandra; add amomum for nerdy patients 6g. Decoction method: decocting in water 2 to 3 times in 2 doses; one dose per day for mildly ill patients, 2 doses per day for severely ill patients in 4 divided doses. 4 days is a course of treatment.

After 3 doses, the urine color became normal, the urine routine was normal, and the illness recovered. There was no recurrence during the 1-year follow-up.

3 Experience: The causes of hematuria are cold, heat, deficiency, actuality, wind, fire, qi, and blood stasis, involving the five internal organs, bladder, and small intestines. Cistanche is only suitable for elderly patients with yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney, or the type of both qi deficiency and subsidence. Cistanche is sweet, salty, and warm in nature and taste, enters the kidneys and large intestine meridian, is warm but not dry, nourishes but not severe, nourishes yang and yin, and treats kidney deficiency.
