Coronavirus pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs caused by a coronavirus, which is mainly characterized by fever, dry cough, and malaise. Some sober patients present with only a low-grade fever and mild malaise, with no signs of pneumonia. Clinically, coronavirus pneumonia is classified as mild, common, or severe, and there are no effective drugs for the treatment of coronavirus pneumonia. The current treatment is supportive therapy, which includes bed rest, nutritional support, adequate calories, water and electrolyte balance, internal environment stability, and close monitoring of vital signs and oxygen saturation, etc. If hypoxia occurs, oxygen is given in a timely manner. In the broad sense of self-healing, as long as no targeted treatment is taken, it can be called self-healing. New coronavirus pneumonia, especially in mild cases, can be self-healing and can be treated with general therapy, that is, supportive therapy, to eventually achieve victory in the battle between the body and the virus.

In fact, the virus and the immune system are the main players in this battle.
Each person has a different constitution and reacts differently to the virus.
Some people are young, do not know any better, have a stronger immune system and are in better health, and can quickly destroy the virus, thus showing only mild symptoms, such as fever, weakness, dry cough, or even only mild cold symptoms.
For this kind of patients, they do not need to give too many medical measures or even go to the hospital, and may be able to heal by themselves, this kind, we call it self-healing.
Some people are older, or have poor immunity, or have a combination of hypertension, heart disease, renal insufficiency, and other underlying diseases. At this time, the immune system and the virus are fighting a very close battle, and the process of the immune system attacking the virus can also harm the body itself.

Cistanche for improving immunity
If the immune system is too weak to control the replication of the virus, the disease will get worse. Or, the resistance is so long that it hurts its own organism, and it can't hold itself up before it can win.
The symptoms are more severe in such patients, and may manifest as high fever, or low or no fever. There is usually respiratory distress or even acute respiratory distress syndrome, which can also be accompanied by failure of various systems.
In moderately or severely ill patients, medical intervention is needed to give active support and to give the immune system enough time and enough capacity to defeat the virus. Patients who heal with such medical interventions are what we call cured.

So how did the doctors and nurses cure a patient with a coronavirus pneumonia?
If the fight between the body itself and the virus is likened to a war, then these medical interventions are various strategic supports for the body.
Support for treatment. Being sick is a very, very energy-intensive affair, and when people are sick they often have a poor appetite and an even poorer energy supply. Therefore, it is very important to keep the patient in bed and rest and to improve nutrition. Patients who can eat eat more highly nutritious food, and those who cannot eat are given enteral nutritional support. Stabilization of the internal environment is also very important. Water and electrolytes should not be lacking or imbalanced, which requires timely infusion of fluids and maintenance of acid-base electrolyte balance.
Oxygen therapy. In mild and common patients, due to inflammation in the lungs, there may be chest tightness or mild dyspnea, so "oxygen therapy", commonly known as oxygen inhalation, can be given. By giving a relatively high concentration of oxygen directly, blood oxygen saturation is increased and the organism is relieved of hypoxia.
