Memory is the process of accumulating and preserving individual experiences in the mind. Things people have perceived, problems they have thought about, emotions they have experienced or activities they have engaged in will leave different degrees of impressions in people's minds, and some of them can be retained as experiences for quite a long time and can be recovered under certain conditions, which is memory.

So can our personal memory ability be enhanced through training and conscious cultivation? In fact, we can easily do so as long as we master these four methods, which are used by the vast majority of powerful people.

1. Learn to engage your implicit memory

There are many types of memory but they are all emotionally charged. For example, if you remember how to walk, talk or ride a bicycle, i.e. you don't need to consciously remember how to do it, this is implicit memory. Conversely, when someone has shown you how to use a key to open a door only once, you have to rely on episodic memory to open the door.

You cannot remember everything you have experienced, and many things can only become your immediate memory, lasting only a few minutes. There is also short-term memory: where you are going. But the important things need to be remembered for a long time and become long term memory.

Arguably, the best way we can improve our memory is to connect your memories to your personal experiences. The more memories you can connect to your inner self, the better your memory will be and the less likely you will forget, which is what we can do by playing with our implicit memory.

2. Stretch your memory by using your imagination

Einstein, who held imagination in high esteem, once said: Imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited, while imagination encapsulates everything in the world and drives progress.

Imagination is essential for more complex work such as designing, planning, creating and making plans, and memory alone cannot accomplish the task. If you have a good imagination, you will be able to choose a better plan through repeated experiments in your mind before doing something, which will obviously make things more efficient and easy to succeed.

Imagination actually emphasizes the integration of knowledge. It is said that Einstein was most irritable when he relaxed his mind through music, started his own imagination journey, and then suddenly his brain opened up and came up with some important theories. It can be said that great scientists are constantly expanding through imagination to find the connection of knowledge and thus make significant discoveries.

3. Through your thought process you can frame memory in many ways

"To learn without thinking is reckless, to think without learning is dangerous." "The officer of the mind is thinking, thinking is getting, not thinking is not getting." It can be seen that the ancients attached great importance to the training of thinking.

Thinking is achieved with the help of language, representation or action, the generalization of objective things and indirect knowledge, is the advanced form of cognition. It reveals the essential features and internal connections of things and is mainly expressed in the activities of concept formation and problem solving.

The process of analyzing, synthesizing, comparing, abstracting and generalizing the information that is transferred from the outside world, using the knowledge and experience stored in the long term memory, is the thinking process.

When you think more clearly about the whole thing, your memory ability will be stronger. Any knowledge becomes internalized into our own only through thinking; without this process, we are all passive recipients of external knowledge.

We can only rediscover the pulse of knowledge connection through self-reflection, understanding and induction, we will find that the new things we learn will open up our past knowledge pulse and form our own knowledge base, thus your memory base becomes more and more powerful.

4, when the mood is good, our memory is also better

We may have this experience, when the mood is good, do things with more energy, the effect is also extra good; when the mood is low, the effect is also poor, emotions and efficiency have a closely related link.

Emotion is a person's experience of whether the objective things meet the subjective needs, that is, the experience of external things. If the external things meet and satisfy their needs, people will produce positive emotions, such as happy, satisfied, etc., when the ability to accept knowledge is stronger; conversely, they will produce negative emotions, such as disappointment, sadness, etc., when the ability to accept knowledge will be weaker. So in normal times, remember to learn to regulate ourselves well, so that we can maintain a stable emotion, in order to keep our minds at optimal efficiency.

And if we want to become a memory master, we must understand that a stable environment helps us a lot, for example, we have the support and help of our friends; at the same time, we usually focus on keeping a positive mindset, facing difficulties bravely, exploring and thinking positively, and using our imagination and our past knowledge as the initiation point of our memory, we can be the best memory master.
