1. Some animals were subjected to freezing tests, and some animals were subjected to 5H-TdR in vivo participation experiments. The improved Kay method and Marmur method were used to extract and purify DNA. The DNA content was determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry.

2. Results

  • Liver and spleen DNA synthesis rate (CPM/mg; DNA/min, mean±standard error) of each group animal’s liver and spleen DNA synthesis rate (CPM/mg; DNA/min, mean ± standard error) results: Control Group (8 animals), Deficiency Group (8) and Cistanche Group (9) were 11560+1980, 5600+ 848,9900 ± 1660, respectively. It can be seen that the DNA synthesis rate of Deficiency Group is significantly reduced, and the difference is significant compared with Control Group (P<0.05): Add Epimedium After and Cistanche mixture, the DNA synthesis rate of Deficiency Group animals is significantly increased, almost reaching the normal level.


  • Freezing resistance experiment Put each group of animals in a metal cage at the same time and put them in a refrigerator at minus 5~61C. The freezer resistance time is: Control Group (9), "kidney function deficiency" group (10), Cistanche Group (10) were 172.5±15.5, 119.5 + 6.7, 206±12.3 (min). It can be seen that the frost resistance time of the Deficiency Group is significantly different from that of the other two groups, while the Cistanche Group has longer frost resistance than the Deficiency Group, even better than Control Group freezing time is even longer.


  • The observation results of the weight change and meta-mortality rate of animals in each group are: Cistanche Group and Control Group have increased weight and lower mortality rate than Deficiency Group.
