How Cistanche Benefit Treatment for Senile Vertigo

Senile vertigo is common clinically and can be caused by multiple system diseases. The clinical symptoms are vertigo and dizziness. They are subjective sensory disorder that seriously affects the study, work, and life of the patient. Currently, there is no specific treatment method. From September 2003 to December 2006, the author used Chinese traditional medicine, cistanche, and other medicine to tonifying the kidney and promote blood circulation to treat 48 cases of this disease in clinical work and achieved good results. The report is as follows.
1 Clinical data
The 48 patients were all outpatients and inpatients in this hospital, including 21 males and 27 females. They were aged 49-76 years, with an average age of 58.7 years. The course of the disease was one month-8 year. 23 cases were recurrent dizziness, with mild symptoms at the severe time, 25 cases had dizziness in bursts, of which 3 cases had fainted. 16 cases were cerebral arteriosclerosis, 13 cases were cervical spondylosis, 15 cases were hypertension, and 4 cases were Meniere’s syndrome. Symptoms: dizziness lasts for a long time. The mild ones will stop when you close your eyes, and the more serious ones will be like riding in a car or boat, tinnitus like a cicada, lethargy, sore waist, and knees, dim vision, lack of sleepiness, forgetfulness, dull complexion, or faulty skin, tongue Dark texture or ecchymosis, dark purple veins under the tongue, heavy and thin pulse. According to clinical symptoms, it is a kidney deficiency type.
2 Treatment method
Chinese traditional medicine to tonifying the kidney and activate blood. Basic prescriptions: Rehmannia glutinosa 12g, Cornus 12g, Lycium barbarum 15g, ligustrum lucidum 12g, dodder 15g, Polygonatum 15g, cistanche 10g, eucommia 15g, angelica 15g, Pueraria lobata 20g, chuanxiong 12g, danshen 15g, ginkgo Biloba 15g.
3 Efficacy criteria
Cure: The symptoms disappeared, and the relevant laboratory tests are regular;
Improvement: symptoms and signs are lower, and related laboratory tests have improved;
Ineffective: no significant improvement in symptoms [1].
4 Treatment results
29 cases were clinically cured, 16 cases improved, 3 cases were not effective, and the total effective rate It is 93.75%.
5 typical cases
Luo, male, 72 years old, was first diagnosed on October 28, 2004. Repeated dizziness for more than four years and worsened for a week. I have used Sibelius, Quan Tianma Capsules, Ginkgo biloba leaves, etc., but failed to get a radical cure. On diagnosis, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, forgetfulness, listlessness, lethargy, frequent feelingsSore waist and knees. Blood pressure measured at 130/75mmhg, transcranial CT examination showed the sign of cerebral arteriosclerosis. It is because of the insufficient kidney essence, weak and poor blood flow, and loss of brain nourishment.
Prescription: is Rehmannia glutinosa 12g, dogwood 12g, wolfberry 15g, Ligustrum lucidum 12g, dodder 15g, Polygonatum 15g, Cistanche 10g, Eucommia 15g, Angelica 15g, Pueraria lobata 20g, Chuanxiong 12g, Salvia 15g, Ginkgo biloba 15g, Astragalus 18g, Jujube seed 12g, calamus 12g, turmeric 15g. One dose a day, water decocted in two doses, the symptoms were significantly lower after two weeks, the effect was not better, and the effects were not improved. After two weeks of taking, the dizziness and other symptoms completely disappeared, and the follow-up did not recur for half a year.
6 Discussion
kidney deficiency causes senile vertigo. Vertigo treated in this article is all senile. In old age, the function of the viscera is lower, and the essence and qi in the kidney are insufficient. Cistanche is used in the prescription to warm and nourish the kidney. Cistanche also has the function of delaying brain decline and can significantly strengthen the body's immunity function [3]. So senile vertigo is fundamentally relieved.
